Valley Distributors was founded by Bernard “Buck” Runser. The facility was located at Eastern Avenue in Waterville, Maine. At the time on two Anheuser-Busch products were sold: Budweiser and Michelob.
In the late 70’s the company grows significantly adding new personnel and AB brands such as Busch, Natural Light and Michelob Light.
The companies facilities were expanded and moved in 1980 to their current location on the Belgrade Road in Oakland, Maine.
In 1982, Budweiser Light is introduced and is later renamed Bud Light. Today Bud Light is America’s and Central Maine’s favorite beer. In the Mid 80’s Controlled Environment Warehousing is added to the facility to ensure that consumers receive the freshest beer possible.
In 1989 and again in 2009 the facility is expanded to meet the growing needs of the business.
Today the company carries an extensive line of over 200 beer brands and over 200 non-alcoholic brands.
The beer portfolio represents 60% of the beer market in Central Maine.
